While not a rip roaring 10 minute gunfight with 15 round revolvers and 10 minute reloads of said magic revolvers, this is hands down, the single best.

Disadvantage, but fight onward against all odds.
Blondie, leveling the field...
Realization that the whole revenge story, the entire movie-comes down to this, served on a platter by Blondie.
Deadly.

There is no better scene IMHO-just longer ones.

It's a great porn, no doubt.

Two Carradine bros, Stacy Keach, Dennis Quaid. About the exploits of the James/Younger gang. Used to be a favorite of mine but might be a bit old for some folks here. The shootout at the (Kansas?) bank that effectively destroyed the gang is a masterpiece of cinematic chaos. Gunfight porn perhaps?

the gunfight was amazing cuz the entire movie led up to it...

That's pretty much the template for every western, ever.

I'm watching the end of "Open Range"... probably seen the movie a half dozen times or so... never get tired of watching the shootout at the end.

Might have to rate it the very best I've seen... I dig the finale to "The Shootist" too... another favorite of mine.

What you got?

I agree with Open Range if you have a good sound system.

Excellent movie. I'm related to the Youngers.

Also, on a similar topic, Ride With the Devil. Outstanding western/civil war movie.

The gun fight scene, while not a climax per se, in Broken Trail was another I thought was very well done.

ETA, cool, it's online. 13:58 in this part then at the beginning of the next.

From the maker of Brokeback Mountain!

Seriously, that is a great movie...and Ang Lee is all over the map. Crouching Tiger, Sense & Sensibility, The Ice Harvest....that's some range.

Not a fan of westerns, but I watched 4:10 to Yuma many times.

Open range could have been a million times better without Kevin Kosner in it.  I put him on the same level as nick cage

You'd be an hour late for that train.

Another honorable mention would be the shootout in the made for TV series The Sacketts. It does not however appear to be on youtube anywhere.

While I have to give mention to the ambush scene in the Professionals, there is no comparison to the end shoot-out in the Wild Bunch.
