Forrest Gump, hands down.

This.  Seen it 100 times and I still duck at the first pop of a bullet going by.  Perfectly captures my experience of being ambushed, normal life to all Hell breaking loose in a blink of an eye.  TJR

The scene where the bad guys come to the riverside town and the old Vietnam vet steps out of the Post office to engage them.

Yes, this was awesome.  Much better if you watch the whole movie, IMO.  The HOLY SHIT factor goes way up.

Also, the weird tension preceding the original incident is great.

This.  The way they filmed at an up angle to show just how in the hole the agents were was very effective.

Does the end of Saving Private Ryan count? Or is that more of just a battle since the Germans probably knew they were there.

Pike Bishop: They set it up.

Sykes: [laughs hysterically] "They"? Why, they is the plain and fancy they, that's who "they" is! Caught you, didn't they? Tied a tin can to your tail. Led you in and waltzed you out again. Oh my, what a bunch! Big tough ones, hunh? Here you are with a handful of holes, a thumb up your ass, and a big grin to pass the time of day with. They? Who the hell is "they?"
