I've been looking at those pictures from Iraq, and I think if I get another .50 it should go "bling bling" as well as "bang bang." How much extra to get it gold plated? That's a standard option, isn't it?

I'm glad this all came together for you guys.
I swear, esp. at a time like this(just read CA is now officially goose-stepping forward with the .50 Ban)...is NOT the time to be short on sizeable "discretionary" funds. This is extremely regrettable to me. The M82 @ $6500 is a damned good price for such a capable weapon. All you buyers should feel fortunate to afford and legally own a .50" weapon. |

Anybody want to chip in to the "Buy Demordrah A Barret M82A1" fund? It's for a good cause. Think of it as similar to the Make a Wish Foundation. You see, I've always wanted to own an M82A1, and I'm slowly dying (read, getting older)
Seriously ... you people are worse than drug dealers. Half of me is saying to buy the damned thing, but my more reasonable half is telling me I'll be fucked sideways financially if I do. Evil, Steyr ... very evil. |

Just an update.
Still waiting on 2 guys (one from here, one from Bighammer) to get back to me regarding how they wish to pay. The other 8 have eitehr submitted credit card info or sent checks. Soon as these two guys get back to me and get payment taken care of I can submit this to Barrett. |

After several emails I have not heard back from the guy on Bighammer. And one guy from here is now looking at one locally and his status is currently unsure. I'm gonna try and salvage this damn thing and am now looking for two more people. We are currently at 8 again. |

One person was from Bighammer and I haven't heard anything at all. He contacted me by email and didn't reply to either thread. The other person was from here but also only contacted me by email. He said something to the effect of "after talking to you by phone I am getting a M99-1." He meant he is getting one but not sure if from me or locally. I mistook it as a confirmation of participation in the group buy. Anyway for all intents and purposes, we need 2 more guys. I'm gonna leave this open until the end of May in the hope that we get them. We are really close, I'd hate to just scrap this deal. |

Just an update.
All checks have arrived and all credit cards have been processed. I am just waiting for the amounts to be made available. Due to the large amounts my bank is holding a percentage for 10 days. I have advised Barrett of the impending order and requested a current estimate of delivery time. In a email dated Mar 12 they stated the M99s are in stock and could be delivered immediately and that M82A1 models will take 60-90 days. The prepaid order will be delivered to Barrett in the first week of June. |

happy to get in on the deal. I hope our politicians do not attempt to ban .50 cal weapons. How about a group buy for the new S&W .50 cal revolver? I know they are not yet available, and you probably could not get too much of a break, but maybe 10 guys can get a little lower price? Thanks for taking our order |

I ordered one of the M82A1s, and I'd like to set the record straight. First, there's no way I could "afford" this gun at the retail price or the discounted group buy ptice. It's an unconscionable, outrageous, budget-butting expense. I bought it only in the hope that it would cure me of a gun-buying mania. I bought a Serbu for the same reason, and it failed. So far, the Barrett seems to have worked. I no longer "need" an Uzi. I don't "need" a Dragonov. I dont need an H&K (any of them) (although I bought a PTR-91 which I now see may not function as expected). In that respect, I suppose I could "afford" the Barrett because at $6500+ it cured a disease that threatened to suck up every dollar I'd earn from now to retirement, and then some. Now I'm cured. I don't need anything else. Unless StyerAUG somehow manages to swing a deal for the Ohio Ordnance 1917 Brownings. Then I'm going to be very upset and have to rethink everything I thought I knew. And don't even get me started on the MG42. Damn it! I need one. |

Ok, I'm currently in the works with Barrett. I am going to be offering the Swarovski 10x42 (mil dot or rangefinding) and 30mm extra high rings at or below dealer cost. I'll post specifics in the next day or two. I can ship them with the rifle so there will be no additional shipping charges. |

Yes they will go in order.
However, 1 of the 3 is for a member who bought the Swarovski scope and it was factory installed. I don't remember where he was in order of request but obviously he is gonna get one of the first 3. Editted to add: John, I think you are #1 on the list anyway. |

Got my 99 for 2600. Im so glad I brought it when I did.
