I love this thread.
The TBM Avenger is supposed to go up tomorrow, but I doubt that's going to happen. Been raining off and on for the past day (soggy runway) and storms are forecast for tomorrow. German Storch is supposed to go up March 17th, though. We shall see. |

There were some college kids in the hangers wearing 40's period dress and doing some "Pin Up" photography. That was pretty cool. I really need to stop by when they are actually flying some toys. |

The Collings Foundation is at Dallas Love Field's Frontiers of Flight Museum this weekend. They have the B-24 :Witchcraft", the B-17 "Nine-O-Nine" and a P-51 Mustang "Betty Jane." My wife and I took our son out to see them this morning as he loves planes. He's two years old and planes occupy him about 50% of the day.
They also had a Huey - and they were signing people up for rides. I think they'll be in town through the weekend. It's worth seeing - and you can climb through the B-24 & B-17. Added bonus - there are usually WW2 vets around that have a lot of fascinating stories. Here are a few photos I took today: |

This is my second time around with these awesome planes and the first time my son got to see them. He's only two - but he loves airplanes. One of these days I'm going to take a flight on one.

BEAUTIFUL HDR processing on this one. Looks like a Keith Ferris litho. |

BEAUTIFUL HDR processing on this one. Looks like a Keith Ferris litho. Thanks. But none of these photos are HDR. The processing may look similar to HDR, but I'm not processing them as such. Just some very creative, time consuming editing. |

Ahhh. 316. The 2,100th C-130 to roll off the line. I think it was 1994 when we picked it up at the factory. Good plane.
Great pic Quib. |
