I got stung behind my left ear by a European hornet (Vespa crabro L.) a few years ago.
I thought I was going to fucking die for about 15 minutes. |

They're a little smaller but just as mean with a nasty sting. The larger Japanese hornet hasn't made it to the US. |

I learned the things I always called japanese hornets are actually european hornets, and real japanese hornets are to european hornets what european hornets are to normal hornets.
