Tequila tastes like salt water.
I like just about anything else including gin, which a lot of you seem to hate. |

If I am drinking shots, my poison of choice is Tequila with no salt or lime. On the other hand I can't stand the taste of Yagermeister.

Can't do Jack Daniels anymore after me and the better part of a fifth had a go in my more youthful years. Makes my skin crawl to even smell it.

Tequila. It all tastes like piss, cheap mexican beer, gutter water, and wet cigarette butts, with a spritz of stale assholes.
|

I don't get all the gin hate. I'll occasionally ha e some on the rocks. I tell myself its like shitty liquid Ricola.
Hate tequila. Only drink it when I'm in Mexico because your vodka or whisky options are SEVERELY limited. My most hated? Courvoisier/Hennessey. |

If someone has it as a mixer with coke, for free, I'll drink it. But otherwise, no thanks. I never liked gin. Didn't ever try any as a teenager, but in my 20's fell in with some friends who liked gin & tonic. Ughh. No. Just a few years ago decided to try making my own martini's. Bombay Sapphire... yessssssssss... |

The smell of tequila makes me want to vomit. I held down two shots in my life. Fucking disgusting.
Had a bad experience with Southern Comfort. Never again. Anything else is fair game. I don't drink much anymore but when I do...Jack Daniels, Crown Royal, Bombay Sapphire are my goto boozes. |
|
Jack Daniels makes me gag, I cant even tolerate smelling it.
This may have to do with a christmas party, 10-12 shots of jack and nothing more to eat than chicken wings. That mess came out of my nose like a freight train. It was terrible. |
|
I quit drinking years ago, but Ol Forrester and coke was my biggest enemy and best friend all at once. It made me do some stupid shit.

I try everything with an open mind. There is good cheap booze, and shitty expensive booze. If you have to chill it, add ice to it, or mix it with something, I stay away. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Tequila and Gin. I just can't do it. I do love Canadian whiskey though.

I think a lot of Bourbon guys get turned off to Scotch because some jackass thinks they will love Laphroaig, Ardbeg, or Lagavulin the same way they do. Those suck for beginner scotches. Dalmore 12, Achentoshan 10, Glenmorangie 10, and a few other Highland/Speysides are a good first. Islands, west highlands, and Islays are a piss poor place to start. Love Bourbon, Tennessee whiskey, most rum, and good tequila now and then. Don't really care for Canadian whiskey, and can't stand scotch. Was gonna disagree, then I reread and saw "Bourbon guys"...and yeah, I can see that. If you don't like bourbon, though, they are good options to try, as they are totally different flavors...about the only thing they have in common with bourbon (and other scotches for that matter) is the fact that they're brown. |

FPNI
gin.... will also vote any Liquorice flavored booze.... ETA: after reading I see a few others Jagermeister... cant even force this stuff down. Jack Daniels. this might just be from overdoing it ONCE I can smell it in the air at a bar and instantly makes my skin crawl no other booze can do that just by smell alone lol |

Whiskey, bourbon, Scotch.
Primarily blame my buddies for feeding it to me on my 21st, it didn't agree with me. |

I hate scotch. Just went on the ignore list.. I promise I've tried. There was an honest effort involved. Some people do not like it. I respect that. Some people think it's just plain stupid to pay $1800+/gallon for the stuff. I respect that too. But I like it a lot. |

Conversely, I have a relationship with bourbon that makes my wife jealous.

Really? People hate gin so much here? Guys, go try Hendrick's gin in a dry martini, really. It's kick ass.

I can drink most anything except for Vodka.
I had a really shitty experience with vodka one time, and haven't been able to touch it since, unless if it's mixed down to completely mask the taste. I drink rum and tequila to get drunk, but gin and whiskey mostly for the flavor. |

Every kind of liquor I've tried tasted like nail polish remover to me, don't see the attraction.
I do find it interesting to see other people discuss liquor to see how they perceive it. |

I've always hated tequila, just like you. Recently I've tried some better brands and it's really pretty good stuff. Stay away from the Jose and you'll be ok. I hate gin too, that tree bark tasting shit will never taste good to me.

Most people's bad experience is mixing tequila made from sewer water with too many beers. You got sick???? Really????

Crown Royal is about the only thing I can't stand. Having a Maker's Mark neat right now.
