Case: Cooler Master CM Storm Sniper
Power Supply: Thermaltake TR2 RX 650W
Motherboard: ASUS P6X58D Premium
CPU: Intel i7 930 3.80GHz (OC)
CPU Fan & Heat Sink: Cooler Master V8
Memory: Corsair XMS3 DDR3 1600 (3x2GB or 6GB total)
Hard Drive: Intel X25-M (80GB, SSD)
Video: ASUS EAH5770 (ATI)

what do you think of that Coolmaster V8 ? I almost bought one the other day. . . .
I'm running at 49C at idle (4GHz overclock).

Prime95 gets it up to around 90C after it's been running a while. Ambient room temps are a bit high, though. At stock i7 speeds (2.8GHZ), it's running around 30C at idle.

Thing is, I don't really trust software reported temps as far as I can throw 'em...but there ya go.

The fun part is building a PC on a budget, finding some really good deals, do a little overclocking a make a monster PC for < $500.

THis cost me <$500 2 years ago and there isnt a thing I cannot run or play, granted I only have a 1440x900screen.

The best part is my processor was only $100, and I have gotten it up to 4.3Ghz stable, from its stock 2.53Ghz

I have a new case with somewhat good cable managment but this is when i first put it together, in a P3 Dell Windows ME case form 2000.

Sadly enough it ran MUCH cooler in this shiity case as I had it rigged so it was like a wind tunnel, especially the graphics card. The 8800GT would idle around 35C, now it idles around 50C, look below for my temps with my processor in it.

Virgin Parts being installed

Wind Tunnel for 8800gt: 2x 80mm LED fans and a 120mm fan.

Really Low Temps:

4.25Ghz _I dont know where my 4.3Ghz screen shot is.

I bought it cause it looks cool, even at $90 (when I bought it, have no idea what it costs now). Noticed a small drops in temp. This fucker is huge, make sure you have room.

The watercooled pictures in this thread are awesome.  I don't know if I'd ever want to do it myself, but impressive none the less.

I'll whore out my build again I suppose...

Case: Antec 1200
Mobo: Asus PX58D Premium
CPU: i7-920
Heatsink: Coolermaster V8
RAM: 6GB Mushkin DDR3 Cas 6
Video: Sapphire 5850 1GB
PSU: Corsair 750HX
HDD: 640GB WD Caviar Black
Samsung 23" LED
M-Audio Studiophile AV-40's

After seeing all these nice builds, I think I need to work on my cable management.  CPU OC'd to 3.63GHz and it idles at about 40 C in a somewhat warm room upstairs, so airflow is decent, but it sure doesn't look good in these pictures.

This thread makes me want to build a desktop.

I used to be interested in desktop building but that was before I got into the laptop/notebook form factor.

Just built my parents a PC, it was only 4650 and now im fucking jealous. The most streassful thing this will do is play facebook games but they wanted it to last another 8+ years.

Luckily im a commuting college student so I get to paly with it.

Pictures will be up in a few minutes!

Intel Xeon 3440 (1156 socket i7), these are binned much better since they are business grade
4gb 1333mhz ram
Asus P7H55 w/ usb 3.0
Zotac 8800GT AMP (gave them my old graphics, I upgraded)

This PC is rediculously powerful and I have a fealing it can easily be overclocked to 4+Ghz as I set teh vcore to 1.25v and  got up to 3.6Ghz without even trying. Unfortunetly the power supply goes on the bottom and the cords were too short so there is no way to hide them.

I also upgraded my PC with a Corsair H70 and a GTX 475
