It really does explain a lot. These people are not smart enough to
start and run a campaign on their own.

It is now proven that it is possible to win with an experienced organization
backing a puppet candidate.

4) If they stick to their roots, run them for state office

Yes, and it is about finding talent with superficial appeal to run. The old way was to work your way up in local government. You had some basic skills by that process.

It makes sense, however. Obama was a candidate with superficial appeal. While Obama did not rise the same way, his success showed that it was possible.
