Tight budget and 500-600yds don't go well together. I have a VXIII 4.5-14X with Boone & Crockett reticle on my 270WSM and I can shoot 500 without making an adjustment but 600 is a whole different story. I can't imagine trying a 500yd shot with anything less than that kind of glass.
