Problem... all of my wheel guns have adjustable sights.  I still wanna play!

.....not ALL cops in the 80s were broke! The Smith 19/66 filled many a holster!

FHP issued Colt Pythons and LAPD issued Smith & Wesson Model 14s. Adjustable Sights are fine.

Wonder how often that happened IRL

Sounds cool until you realize that would require a van full of guns. Not a wheelbarrow, a van.

I'm not saying it couldn't be done. But the logistics would be... Challenging.

It would be fun to do a 10 stage decade match.

First stage is 1900-1910 guns
Second stage is 1911-1920 guns

Currently no retro AR in the stable.  No Mini14 either (hey MiamiJBT, you've got a few dozen you can loan out, right?

I DO have an M1 carbine though...  I can throw on a metal heat shield hand guard and rock some 30rnd mags!  That's pretty 70s, no?

You have to do it like a pot luck, everybody bring a gun or three, sign up on the list to show what you are bringing, so we don't have duplicates.

Everybody only needs a few shots from each gun, maybe 2 to check trigger and sights, and 10 to count (with mandatory reload on magazine equiped guns.)

Set it up with the owner of the guns at the station and then the owners can all rotate through the guns. maybe have 3 minutes per station with 1~3 guns?

I did a mental inventory, and if I can't run a Glock, then my only gear options that would remotely qualify for this would be my GAU-5/A/A clone, my 870, and my 4" Rock Island Colt revolver clone.

Part of the beauty of the pumpgun/revolver league is that you could start from scratch, scour the pawn shops, and come up with perfectly competitive gear for about 5 bills.

Though about this last year when watching a Miami vice marathon.  Would be a great way to get kids into firearms since they love "retro" 80's movies and TV shows.  I would say allow firearms sold before Jan 1 1990 or clones there of.  Iron sights only no Optics or red dots.  I would also allow the option of a PPC in place of shotgun with a penalty to keep things even.

This would include Glock 17, 19, 17L but not the 34. 1911's, CZ75, Beretta 92fs, Sig 226/220 ect.

PCC would include MP5, UZI, Colt 9mm AR

Most any pump shotgun

Rifles would include the M16A1/A2, Ruger Mini 14, Colt xm177, AK variants

Would have a separate division for Revolver, Pump shotgun, and 308 rifle

7.62 rifles would include FAL, G3, M14

Costumes would be welcome but not required, could hold a contest and give a prize for best costume.
