He covered the full distance to the officer in 2.5 seconds.

He was finally incapacitated less than 2 feet from the officer.

Years ago, when revolvers ruled, one of the APD motor guys had the same situation. He fired his 6th round at contact, all were lethal shots. There just isn't TIME.
