Well I hit 9061k miles this year today.  I might get to 9500 miles since the next week or so are going to be large miles for me.

324k feet of climbing so far this year
474hr in the saddle
285 rides

I like to hit 10k next year...we will see.

Roll call...how has everyone done with 2020 mileage?

Any goals for 2021?

I am hitting 9400 miles or so...2021 I plan to hit 10k.

I  aimed for 3500 and I'm at 4096. Will probably aim for 4500-5k next year.

It's over, try again this year.

I got to 1700 miles (goal was 2000). I also spent another 29+ miles on the stationary bike (that isn't on my strava because I enter it into my Cyclemeter as a run to compartmentalize the stats), partly because of covid having parks with trails closed and partly because I got unexpectedly buried at work for 5 months working 13 of every 14 days . So I'm ok with that...200 hours total at my mid 9mph avg.

The plan this year is to lose 50 lbs so I can go faster, and hopefully get lots more miles in the same (or a little more) number of hours.  When I started using the stationary bike more consistently a few months ago, I made an effort to do a consistent short HIIT session every week, and it definitely helped my climbing. Hopefully I can get a new bike (money's been sitting in my checking account since April) this year.  And I'd like to do some social rides...I rode solo probably 90% of my miles this year.

Final Strava stats for 2020:

Distance -1,508.0 mi
Time - 188h 59m
Elev Gain- 129,600 ft
Rides - 113

I know at least 15 miles are missing, for a couple of short rides with my daughter and a post trail build ride that I didn't track. My goal changed throughout the year - 1100 initially, then 1300, then 1500....

It was a great year of riding, with a couple of new trail visits along the way. I'm planning to visit some more new trails in '21 and hopefully have a new bike soon too.

Hey all,

I ended up at 1591 for the year....not bad since I did not get back on the bike till June or so...

Last year was 1670

So with the reset button mashed - I am thinking of setting the Goal of 1500 for the year with more swimming, running and weights thrown into the mix..

Happy New Year's to all!

I made my initial, "safe" goal of 500 miles but only got to 664 on the secondary 1000 mile goal.

I'll try again for 1000 in 2021.  Another goal is to get more miles on a real bike.  Most of my 2020 miles were on a stationary.

Great forum. Glad I found it.

I didnt really have a goal besides riding and losing weight. Had to work from home since April and got my bike out for the 1st time in years.

Ended the year at 2425. Am super happy with that. Lost 45 pounds and 2 pant sizes. feeling great

Hoping for 3000 next year

I should have tracked this more closely.  I just realized today that I'm 6 miles short of 3000.

First 10k year for me.

Managed to podium in the handful of events I did, a couple others were cancelled.

Mainly spent the year getting faster on the trails so I could continue to chase KOMs from the younger guys.

Hoping to build a gravel bike this year since my days on the road are over.

2020: 1856 miles with 101,258 ft of elevation.  Original goal was 1500 miles - I'll have to bump it up for next year.  I really slacked off the past couple of months when hunting season kicked in.

Glad everyone could participate.  Any interest in continuing this for next year?  Should we keep it in this forum or move it over to Mountain and Road Bicycles?

I would give it a go. I certainly hope to ride more in 2021 than I did in 2020.

Definately keep it going, preferably with a new thread.

I think both here and the cycling sub-forum would be appropriate locations.  Some may view this challenge as a part of the cycling sport and some may view it as a fitness/health enhancer.  It's probably both for most of us.
