Hey, if Pizza Hut wants to pay me $11K per month to deliver pizzas in Temple, where do I sign up? They probably wouldn't put me up at Gaido's on the seawall in Galveston and pay me $600 a day to sit on the beach, but sometime's a man has just got to make a few sacrifices. [;)]
Seriously, John, over the years here I've made no secret of who I work for. I was just discussing it in another recent thread. But for the myopic, it's the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway Company. And my opinions regarding Texas were not formulated simply in Temple alone. I also worked in Galveston, Houston, DFW, Gainesville, Waco, Elgin, San Antonio, Sweetwater, Brownwood, Sommerville, and myriad locales in between.
It's news to me, and probably most others, that a single ticket in Texas and another Arizona consitutes "from here to Washington state". But hey, to each his own....
As for the hotel/motel/whatever thing, most of the rest of the world use the terms interchangeably. But if you really must know, it wasn't either one. It was an inn. One that I have heard has since burned down and insurance fraud was suspected. Maybe that'll narrow it down a bit and satiate your thirsty curiosity.
Eric, surely even you can see how a little ribbing/disagreement spawned into this. Contrary to continual assertions here, I don't buy that Texans are friendlier or any better people than those from most other parts of the country. When challenged, I simply provided the basis for that belief.
Arock, believe me, I don't go around turning over stones looking for racism. For the most part, I don't even really care. Which made my surprise at some of the levels of racism I encountered surprising in itself.
And guys, come one. Did I say that any of YOU are racist? I didn't think so. Why the offense?
