While I'd love to have a Tavor, for the cool factor, I've yet to see what substantial improvement it offers over the AUG, or FS2000, or Bushmaster M17 for that matter.

Meh, call me when they start bringing overs Draganovs, Vintorezs, or some more AKs As long as they leave the peasant conscript ergonomics back in Russiastan where it belongs, I agree. Till then, I'll take one of what the Israelis are having thanks...including their much improved AK actions. Im gonna say this....on that |

I've got enough money and parts sunk into AR's, that I really have no desire for some other kind of platform.

Hmm............I will take a wait and see approach, but I would love to have one

I fail to see what any of the guns you list offer in improvement over a lowly AR15 carbine, except being a bullpoop, but the more important question is does the Tavor live up to its contemporaries? All indications say yes, and then some. So, the attraction is that it's yet another option for a capable, battle-proven rifle for people that want one. I've shot all the guns you've listed, all good guns with something to offer. I suspect the Tavor is just the same. Viva la difference. |

I like the AK & other Ruskie weapons, but there are better weapon systems out today. |

Canadians are now thinking "FUCK! Now one less thing our guns laws better at versus the Americans! "

Bushmaster called, they want thier M17S back.
I bought one back in the late 90's as a cheaper alternative to an AR, $650 as compared to $900. Sorta a big mistake. It's accurate but bullpups will always suck in the trigger and mag change department there's no way around it. If you only need 30 or less rounds for hunting it's fine, but for any pratical 'assualt weapon' role it's poop. I think I've put maybe 200 rounds thru it in 13+ years. It's just a semi collectable conversation peice these days. First and last bullpup I'll ever buy. |

"The bolts the only thing you have to buy to turn it from a righty to a lefty." You have to buy something to switch from right to left handed shooting? You can shoot it left handed if you like hot brass ejecting in your neck. The ports on bullpups are right where the cheekweld is. So you need a left ejecting bolt to shoot the brass out the other side away from you. |

I'm happy to see a different rifle offered, especially one with roots in actual service like the Tavor. I'll probably buy one, if they're <$2000, or a used one in a couple years. I'm just curious why this rifle seems to draw so much "MUST HAVE" when bullpups in general seem to be appreciated only by their small group of general fans. I'm 100% behind a diversified gun safe, for shits and giggles if nothing else. |

Bout time!
I'll buy one if they're under 2k. (I bet they'll be 3k ) |

Sweet! I hope you guys drive the price down a bit. They are almost 3k here!

Chuck Dailey? Is this current?
I thought they went the way of the DoDo Bird... What the fuck? |

I'm not saying I'd marry the bitch, but I'd sure fuck her a few times.

Shot one, didn't care for it... sold the sight for it in the EE.

If this takes PMAGs, this will jump very high on my list. He said STANAG. They just haven't decided who THEY will source mags from is what I understood him to say. PMAG isn't STANAG, hence the EMAG. Like all bullpups; I'm left asking "why" Length without sacrificing velocity. |

The M17 is made of an extruded aluminum tube. And your cheek rests on it. It gets really, really hot in the sun. The cheekrest on the Tavor is polymer. Improvement #1. |

Wow another 5.56 carbine that I dont want. Sweet. I'd be bitter too if I couldn't own any real example of a 5.56 carbine without getting raped by preban prices. |

Can't wait. I'm sure its gonna retail for about 3K though. Half of GD will probably assume its a Mossad conspiracy though. |

So you can have a circumcised or non-circumcised model huh? Here in NY I guess the "cut" model would have no flash hider. |

Quoted: It's just 1/8" over the minimum length. Don't drop this thing on the buttstock, you could chip away enough material to have the ATF crawl up your ass. Had the same thought. Who is to say the ATF's ruler measures they same way theirs does. |
