I dunno, the barrel description is the same for both kits and the pic looks similar too. The only difference looks like the gas block. | This is a cool deal. I let my friend know about it (he's thinking about getting an AR15 soon). I gave him a price estimate of about $600 once all is said and done (a muzzle break has to be pinned and welded, he needs a fixed stock, bayo lug removed, and stripped lower). Not a bad entry price. |

It's not that complicated. DPMS sells a rifle kit that does not have a stripped lower... it includes the BCG even though it is not in the picture, not a big deal. If DPMS sells something without a part it's item description says so: 20" Rifle Kit Less Bolt Carrier Group, Unassembled

DPMS would not sell a rifle kit minus stripped lower without a bolt carrier group unless the description said so, can you image how many pissed off people they would have had bitching on AR15.COM for the past 10 years if that were the case

Prices are falling through the cellar right now on EBR's I think we'll being seeing more of it as well. The market is pretty saturated and as long as the empty suits in D.C. don't start talking ban, we may see some consumers needing a little extra in this sucky economy. Those rifles they stocked up on during the scare are likely to end up in an already crowded market and drive prices down even further. Really, this is a good call by DPMS. The parts are on hand and they may have more inventory than they want since the buying craze died and the economy is flagging. They can live with the parts going for a little less and they do not have to pay for the labor of building the rifle, which really has a minimum limit you can spend. Let's face it, the assemblers are being paid $x/hour so the way to save money on assembly is to cut it out and pray the parts move to reduce inventory before the next tax phase. |
