(Like New/Unfired) Colt R6520 AR-15 A2 Government Carbine converted into a clone correct Operation Gothic Serpent / Black Hawk Down Army Ranger RO727 M16A2 Carbine.

This Colt R6520 AR-15 A2 Government Carbine was built to be a near perfect clone of the Colt RO727 M16A2 Carbine carried by Army Rangers during Operation Gothic Serpent. This rifle is in amazing condition, especially considering it is nearly thirty years old (Mfg. date October 22nd, 1993. Verified by Colt). The rifle is in unfired condition, as is the 14.5" M16A2 Carbine M203 barrel that is currently installed. You will not find a better Colt RO727 clone, I guarantee it. $3,200 Shipped and Insured to your FFL. Price is FIRM. This rifle cost significantly more than the listed price to get to this point. If it doesn't sell at the listed price, I will just keep it. Will consider trades for a Staccato P DPO (Steel Frame) W/ DLC Thread Barrel. (Addition of an Aimpoint ACRO P2 or similar quality RDS is a plus).             The factory 16" lightweight barrel was replaced with the correct (unfired) 14.5" Colt M16A2 Carbine M203 barrel. These barrels are EXTREMELY rare in any condition, and basically impossible to find in like new condition. They are not the same as the typical government profile barrels found on the M4 or M4A1. The barrel has a spacer behind the A2 flash hider, and the flash hider is pinned/welded to meet 16". Barrel work was done by John Thomas of Retro Arms Works.      The carbine's light setup is an excellent condition early Surefire 660 smooth body with a U07 tape switch, M14 barrel mount, M10 1" ring, and F12 I.R. filter flip cap.     The optic setup is a very early (pre serial number) late 80's/early 90's Aimpoint 3000L (Long) mounted on a 7.5" extended weaver carry handle mount. This Aimpoint 3000L is one of many Aimpoint 3000 versions, and the only correct version for the Ranger's RO727 carbines. The optic setup also includes the Aimpoint 2000 3x magnifier, which is the correct magnifier used by Rangers in conjunction with the Aimpoint 3000.         The sling setup is correct for the time period and consists of a 54" "silent sling" (NSN 1005-01-216-4510) and Top Sling Adapter Kit (NSN 1005-00-406-1570).    The safety selector has been correctly modified with the correct selector indicator notch. Work done by John Thomas of Retro Arms Works.   The carbine includes the original 16" lightweight barrel assembly, all original accessories, the original blue label R6520 box, and can be easily converted back to factory configuration, if so desired. Also included is the Colt M16A2 Carbine user manual and extra accessories. Boxes for the Aimpoint 3000L and Aimpoint 2000 3x magnifier are also included. The rifle will ship in a Ranger green single carbine rifle case with the extra accessories. All accessories are in great condition (excellent used condition to like new condition) and are fully functional.  $3,500 Shipped and Insured to your FFL. I accept PayPal (Friends and Family.
