I think from muzzle to front trunnions is about 7".
I think I can remove the front sight base from the barrel and the hand guard retainer, giving you a straight shot. But like I said, the stock and top cover don't come off. Is that doable? Concentric to bore for suppressor use?

Dang, I didn't see the part the stock won't come off. I will need the stock and pistol grip off to be able to put it in my four jaw. I can do it by hand if its close to that diameter though, with thread alignment tools I made on my lathe and a hand die, but at 24mm it be way to big to try.

No, my 5/8 internal die is still not like it should be. They sent one that is too wide to power feed it on my lathe. If you want I can make you a 1/2 inch one for something you may have or I can refund your money for the 5/8 thread protector. I will have the 5/8 die up and running soon, but will have to mill it down to fit in my system.

Thanks, Cal View Quote I will have pics in the next couple of days. Your PTR is a very complex threading job. I am excited to do yours, it will open up a new gun I can do in the future. Its been a challenge perfecting a jig that will do it safely, the jig itself was easy to build, but you must add a lathe dog to stop it from spinning. I have two versions of jigs made for it, one is steel just incase I need to weld the dog into it. I will have it perfected in the next couple of days for sure. ![]() |

Receiver and barrel is fine man. Keep in mind they are already pretty narrow, I think its around .476 if I remember correctly. So it can be done no problem, but you would need to do your due diligence on checking to make sure there is no part of the can showing before you shoot it. Most are fine, but at this diameter I can't correct it if its not concentric. There is basically no turning it down, it goes straight to threading. ![]() Originally Posted By 85blazer:

One more question.
Can you thread a RA Vepr K in 7.62x39 with a clamp/pressed on flash hider? I would like to thread it to use an AAC 7.62SD mount. Adco wouldn't do it unless I pressed out the barrel; I can post a pic later. Thanks |
