I want to get faster and train. Why’s shot timer is the one to buy? I have used a few in matches and they all seem about the same.

My club uses CED 7000s.  We have a bunch of them and they hold up well.

I use a pocket pro 2. I agree they are all about the same.

I like a Pocket Pro 2, can set longer par times. For training it is easy to hit the button when clipped to a pocket.  The CED timers are too hard to use for practice.

I like the original Pocket Pro.

I've beat mine to hell and it keeps on rocking

Pocket pro 2 is what I have and we use them at several local clubs. Easy to operate and read. Several adjustments for sensitivity and volume.

Anything out there for those of us that don't want to spend $100+ on this?  No harbor freight equivalent that's "good enough" quality?

Came to say that.  Try an app first and if you don't like then spend the mineon a real one.

The apps are decent enough for use in dry fire.

I've not found them to be as reliable or user-friendly enough for live fire use.

hell no, agreed.  the mere addition of real buttons is a huge change in how it's used.

for dry-fire I'd actually recommend a standard kitchen timer, stable, large display, most have large buttons, usually have a timer or countdown feature, some have a count-up feature as well.  plus they're loud.

the most useful part of a shot-timer is the microphone pickup of shots fired.  that's tough to accomplish during dry-fire
