What are you guys seeing for optics on guns?

Lots of RMRs?

Any holosuns showing up in competitions?

Anyone going with green dot optics or is red still the standard?

I prefer red dots myself since for some reason I focus on the green dots rather than the target.

Specifically, anyone tried the holosun circle/dot?  To big?  To cluttery?

I have a 510 on my PCC, I have it set dot/circle and like it on a PCC. I just put a Vortex Venom on a M&P I have, with just a dot I like it so far. I have it zeroed at 20 yds. on a 5” target the dot does not cover the target completely.

I shot anther guys Glock with a Holosun set to dot/circle at the same target and it seemed cluttered hard to see a smaller target. Now on a defense pistol the circle/dot my be OK, but with small targets like knock over steel might be too cluttered.

I run a Holosun 507c with the circle dot configuration in USPSA. It seems cluttered if you’re coming from another optic at first but once you get used to it, it’s awesome.

If you lose the dot in transitions, you’ve got something bigger to pick back up, it gives you a “slow down point” running between targets and at any longer distance for USPSA type shooting, it frames poppers and plates really well.

Plus the dot is tough as hell and the battery will last as long as your barrel.
