Thinking about starting some 3gun. Holy cow, this is still fun if you are not the fastest, right? TXL |

TXL Since there is only 4-5 winners at each match we would all be quitting if it wasn't fun when you don't win. It's a great challenge and I've not seen many armed professionals that can work all 3 guns as well as an average 3 gun competitor. This is great training too! |

What make are those caddies? I have been looking into them, but can't decide of I want belt mounted or chest mounted.

Dang, I just bought a bunch of the twins and now they have quads?? For me, the rest of my skills need to improve before I will see a benefit to the quad, but that is just insane..

Hey, this is looking pretty fast! As I am about to set me up for IPSC Shotgun I am looking for a good way to reload fast. This seems to be what I was looking for!
Unfortunately, neither taccom nor any other dealer I found is will or able to export to Germany. Does anyone know a shop that would export six of those qualoads or any other (legal) way to get my hands on them? Thanks for your help! Best Regards Christian |

Do you have an AP L2 gear that is up for sale?
That is remarkable. Very impressive
How many shells does that extended tube hold? Obviously atleast 12 it would seem.. |

Hey Jesse, how do the Taccom and AP Customs quadload caddies compare?
The AP Customs seem to use the same retention clips on the dual and quadload caddies, how would you compare the clips between the two? You can PM me if you have conflicting sponsorships working here.

View Quote The Carbon Arms clips provide the most retention of them all which also makes them the hardest to remove. The AP Customs clips provide the weakest retention of them all which also makes them fast to remove when loading but more susceptible to falling out inadvertently. |
Ideally, you could buy an extra set of springs from AP and put one on the outside set of springs on each caddie and it should provide a wee bit more retention yet still release close to the same. This is just talk as of now, when my AP L2/6 comes in I'll give it a try and see how it feels.

I am thinking that the strong side quad will not work for all hands. Even when carefully placing the shells into my strong hand with my weak hand, I just barely get a one finger contact on the outer two shells and this allows them to splay apart. With some work I think I might be able to make four from the weak hand work from the bottom though. I will see if I can get the wife to take a picture or two of my best grip and post them.

With that said simply dropping dueces target than quads doesn't give up that much time either and it more consistent. |

My hands aren't that big and I'm quad loading around 3 sec loads with my M2 and a little under 3.5 sec loads with my SuperVinci.
Just a tip on what's helped a nobody like me......forget how well they are or aren't sitting in your hand and stuff them into the gun with gross movement. If you notice the crimp on the top shell of the second set of shells is getting caught on the rim of the first shell in the first set, try offsetting the shells in your caddy where the first set of shells that would go into the gun are 1/8" to 1/4" lower in the caddy. If that still doesn't work, are you trying to grip the shells too hard with the tips of your fingers? Strong hand quad loading is primarily gross motor movements. After some advice from Bryan and Tyler Payne, I have shells going into my tube hard enough they have to audibly smack back into the shell stop. |

I know when I first started I was trying to finesse the shells into the gun like you have to do when loading with the traditional weak hand method. Quads and deuces require brute force and speed. Grip it and rip it! |
Exactly! The only finesse part of the load is using your bicep muscle to stop your strong hand at the right distance...a store not so long that you're off the handguard, but not so short that the second shell doesn't pass the shell catch. I've short stroked the loads when first trying to get my reloads under 3 seconds. Practice and "feel" are the only things you can do for this. I try to use dummy shells, live Win AAs, buckshot shells, and slug shells to make sure I know how each feels......BUT, I always bottom eject any live shell and only allow dummy shells thru the chamber when practicing indoors.

I was never really any good at 3 gun and I have not done it in many years. We used to all have a good chuckle at the cops that showed up. Not because they were terrible, but because of their attitudes. In 2002 the Cape Coral Florida Swat team showed up at one of our week night shoots. Not one member could clear the plate rack with their pistols at 15 yards, with the amount of ammo they were carrying on their belts. They left mad with all kinds of excuses and accusations. One very loud mouthed member of the Collier County Fl Sherrif Department's narcotic entry team failed to engage a single pepper popper at 10 yards with his duty 870 entry shotgun. He fired 5 shots right over the top of each pepper popper. Good times I miss those days. |

We were first season newbs. There was lots of "oh, we trained in this stuff, sounds fun" I understand loading is an issue to be trained on...but wow. timed out, out of ammo, unsafe handling, misses, lots of cussing. |
Just curious- can you do load two effectively with the quad load taccom caddies?

Jesse, I hate you. Weak hand quads...really. give the rest of us a chance to catch up to strong hand first.
Nice job, I've thought about trying it but I only have the 2 loaders currently and don't see needing 24 on my belt for local and the couple majors I have planned this year. Don't know what Indian Multigun normally has though. |

I'm finally accepting the reality that I must replace my caddies with these quad loads.
I wonder how easily they interface with the ELS system I just invested in. |

Jesse I'm curious....what is the benefit of maintaining use of caddies if the quad loads are so effective?

It's not easy to grab just one round from the duece or quad Caddy's. I don't spend any time practicing weak hand anymore but I still use it occasionally for a one or two round load. |

Understood. Great point. Thank you for the reply.

I started using Brand Y and Brand X got pissed. If you compare the options out there the Invictus Practical Caddys' are the most versatile well made caddy on the market currently. |

I load 8 to 10 at a time. I run a VEPR 12. Problem solved.
