do you have to use suppressor sights to co witness with factory sights ? I am new to the pistol red dot game

Yes, and if you are planning to use this on a carry gun, I'd highly recommend spending the extra $200 or so for an RMR. The reciprocating slide of a centerfire pistol is punishing on optics and very few will hold up for long to any serious use.
