That's cool.  Can't wait for the 7.62x39 version.

I'd love to test drive one in that caliber.  I've heard owners say that the Ranch Rifle in x39 pulls more accuracy out of cheap steel-case commie ball than could reasonably be expected.

Would be a cool gun with those iron sights.

Reminds me of the sights on my beloved A1 back in the day - set it and forget it was never more appropriate.

Will these fit on a American Compact in 308?

The rear unit will only fit the short actions.

The front sight is dependent on the barrel diameter. The NDS-56 is for a barrel taper that measures between .675"-.687".

It may go on a different barrel, but not be in the preferred location.

A good gunsmith could cut/turn a barrel to fit in a half hour.

Thank you i measured my barrel and the front sight would be pretty far back on the barrel and would almost touch the end of the stock.

Thanks for making these.   I hope you do really well with them.
I know a guy with a 450B if u need dimensions.

The one thing that kept me from being excited about the RAR was a lack of sights.
I just love sights and A1 style are the top of my choices.

I have the 450 and the 350 if you need dimensions.
450 is a couple years old, 350 is fairly new.

I won't have a rifle without BUIS.  YMMV.

Unlike competitors, NodakSpud uses the multi-detent windage adjustment wheel.  Much finer adjustment than GI-equivalent that most others use.  It's mostly set-and-forget, but having finer initial adjustment increments is a plus.

Maybe someday someone will bring back the finger wheel that used to be available for windage adjustment.  No tools required for adjustment.  Same, increased, number of detents, allowing finer rear sigh windage adjustment.  Have written most sight mfrs about this, and all say it's on their "To-Do" list.

Put the single one I had on a Tech Sight rear sight for my 10-22 Liberty Training rifle, and it works like a charm.

How fine is the elevation adjustment of the front sight? It doesn’t seem like this type of sight would be very precise.

Very much so this.

And if possible, QD rings/co-witness/flip up irons/some mechanism to bring them into play if the optic breaks/fogs/etc., but that's me.

Elevation adjustment of front sight depends on number of detents on front sight post; Varies between A1 and A2 type posts, and some "Match" front sights.  "Match" sights usually better suited to Range use than to Field use.  Most Front sight posts are easily interchangeable.  Strongly suggest a dab of anti-seize compound on front sight post threads, as it is likely to remain in same place for decades.  Just have the appropriate front sight adjustment tool available for sighting-in/future re-adjustment; Makes things MUCH easier.  Give front sight detent and spring a drop of oil every now and then, lest they seize-up.  Again, seldom needed to re-adjust front sight elevation, unless significantly different ammo is used.  Sight adjustment tool then becomes extremely useful.  Using bullet tip, while practicable, risks damage to bullet tip, thus causing a "flyer", and a possible miss.

The front NDS-56 sight is an SKS screw-style so it is very finely adjustable for elevation.

Raf's advice above does not apply.

My mistake; assumed AR-type front sight.

Kinda late to the party here as I rarely venture outside of the silencer forum here on arfcom lol but I have 3 Americans, a Predator in .308, a Ranch in .300blk and a .22mag American that I can measure for you to add to  your database if it would help you in anyway.  Just let me know.

We're going to need to crowd source dimensions for the other barrel variants. I can't justify buying each of them right now.

The pictures on Ruger's website show two different barrel profiles on the three 5/8-24 versions.

The 6.5G looks tapered, while the 300Blk and 7.62x39 have a flange.

I measured the barrel of my 7.62x39 American at a couple of points about an inch apart starting right behind the threads and it came out to .717 inches for both measurements.

I ended up aggie-engineering my own solution for sights on my Ruger. I used a clamp-on Pic rail at the muzzle and an AR cut-off carry handle sight on the recaiver’s rail. I plan to sight it in tomorrow and I’ll try to get some pictures.

I had to get a new battery for my Chinesium calipers because my Dillon manuals are buried in a box. I came up with .730" just behind the threads.

I checked on the Ruger website and my serial number was shipped in 2021, so it's not an old one.

Mike, don't take this personally, but the aesthetics of the bottom clamping screws drives me crazy. Is there anyway to make a version of the front sight that is contoured under the barrel with the clamping screws above the barrel and still under the sight post?

ETA - Basically your first sight for the tapered barrels but for .730" straight barrels.
