Army brown. I'll see what my last steel warrior book has to say.

Just says ''chocolate brown.'' Pretty damn close to a hershey bar color.

I did some research on this years ago.  IIRC, the gov't used an aircraft paint, and I used to have the FS color (which I narrowed down to one of two colors of brown).  I'll see if I can find it.

As an aside, it's my guess that General Tire Corp. had those stocks rotating on some sort of turntable while the paint was sprayed on at a specific distance away from the stock in order to give it the texture they have when they're new.

I used Rustoleum dark brown ultra-flat camo paint on mine, and I turned out great.
