What is your favorite type of Rimfire firearm?

I currently have the following;
- Semi Auto Rifle
- Semi Auto Pistol
- Pump Action Rifle

I'd really like to try out a .22lr lever gun in the future.  I've got two pump actions that are really fun, very reliable, and can shoot a wide variety of loads/types of .22.

I went with semi-auto pistol. It would be followed by bolt action rifle.

I'd have to go with semi-auto rifle, followed closely with lever action rifles and revolvers.

I like my dedicated 22 LR AR-15’s, then my Henry H01, Savage Mark II FV,  Ruger 10/22 then my first 22 LR rifle, Sears rebranded Winchester 190.

In Rimfire handguns, toss up between my model 18 S&W and my Glock 44 or AA kit dedicated to a Glock frame.   My first handgun was a Ruger Mark I which is a great handgun but I just don’t shoot it much.   My Ruger Mark I has digested a lot of 22’s from when I was younger but it is a classic that I only shoot a couple times a year.

Lever action for me. No question.

This one.  18 rounds of .22 LR, and up to 27 rounds of CB shorts that are quiet as a mouse fart.  And it shoots them all like lightning.

Ooh that's tough!!

I voted semi auto pistol.  I can't go to the range without my 22/45. Between the awesomeness of the gun and the magloader. Range trips are extremely enjoyable.

BUT. A semi auto takedown carbine is something I rarely would leave behind.
If I can legally have a firearm, there is a 99.8% chance I will have one stashed away somewhere.

Eta.  If there were more take down bolt actions, I'd probably sway that way.  Especially one in 22mag. I would be happy with it's capabilities and wouldn't need much more.

I voted semi-auto rifle. I have a stainless,  10/22 in a Butler Creek, side folding stock; with a binary trigger. This gun goes to the range with me every time. My close second would would be a pump action. Love my Rossi 62 carbine. At some point I'm going to add a real Winchester 62.

I've started shooting Steel Challenge matches in rim fire pistol and rifle... the pistol is a 22/45 lite with muzzle weight and Striplin mud flaps, Holosun 510 jumbo tron...

the rifle currently is a 10" CMMG dedicated upper with bolt group on my SBR also with a Holosun 510... Black Dog plastic lip (not stainless) magazines

back up is a Brownell BRN22 integral mount receiver and barrel in a PMACA chassis...Ruger bolt and BX trigger group... SOPMOD style rear stock, Hogue grip and angled fore grip cantilevered off a 1913 rail section

Poll fail. I like them all, including single shots. I picked up another neat one a couple of weeks ago at a flea market. Its an old Marlin 989 M2. Its a mag. fed semi styled like an M1 carbine. It shoots great and I like it better than my 10/22.

Poll leaves out single-shots, so I went with bolt-action.
There's nothing like a day out with a Stevens Favorite.

Not mine, but similar.

There's really not much point to a .22 that isn't a bolt or lever.

I have others, but my heavy barrel single shot bolt is my favorite.

It's amazing at the shots I can make with that thing at 100 yards on a very lite
wind day.

I've never seen one that wasn't a ragged out pile of garbage that felt mushy all over, with about an 18" round barrel that's seen better days.  Never saw an octagonal barrel like that one with decent wood.

What's the draw?  Basically a Remington rolling block in .22?  Legendary accuracy?  Slow and fun, like my 39a?

Poll should have included single shots.

My personal favorite:

Falling block action. Not super accurate, but perfectly adequate. For me, the draw is that it's small, light, almost petite. Reminds me of being a boy again. Like every other single shot rifle, it's definitely slow and fun (like the 39A), only more of both.

Single shots would be my #2 choice. Super fun.

I guess we are never going to get that single shot subforum

Not mine, I don't own one but a friend does and it's a blast to shoot along with it's bigger brother.

Can't say I have a single favorite or favorite type of .22LR.  I have everything in the poll except for a revolver.  Need to fix that.

I guess the Ruger Mk II target pistol is the most fun, right now.

I'm also learning to shoot long range .22LR with an accurate match grade bolt gun.  Wind doping at 200 yards and beyond is a very sobering, humbling reality check even with a sub MOA rifle shooting match ammo.

I also enjoy helping my grandchildren learn to shoot with a simple single-shot bolt gun that my dad bought used and gave to me when I was about 12 years old.

I have tube fed lever and semi-automatic .22LR rifles and a couple magazine fed ones that I pull out of the safe from time to time.  Just depends on the mood I'm in.  My ancient pump .22LR is in need of repair.  The extractor needs replacing.

What I can say is don't limit yourself to one rimfire type.  They are all fun, each in its own distinctive way.

My favorite is my 10/22

I have at least one of each action type, but I think I enjoy the levers most.

Right now I have a 10/22 and Ruger 22/45 threaded for my can.
Plus I have a Savage  Mark  bolt action in layway.

I don't care what type it is as long as it's accurate.

I have no use for a rifle/pistol that won't shoot to suit me.

My Win. M52B and my Ruger Mk1 5.5" bull barrel shoot to suit me.

The SIG 522 might, but I've never really worked with it enough.

Bolt.

Currently my go to is the 93 in 17hmr. Problem is, because of savage’s craptastic mags, it might as well be a single shot.

10/22 magazine is best magazine.

Might try to find an A17 or similar to also be more lefty friendly.

Also, accuracy is key. Only accurate guns are interesting.

As well as for modern production guns, no threaded barrel, no sale. Miss me with that loud crap.

Now that I have a suppressor on the way I had to say semi pistol but prior to the suppressor order it would have been revolver
Reliable with all types of ammo from bb caps to stingers and in the case of my S&W’s extremely accurate

There should have been an all the above poll option. I am a bit of a .22 addict

I love them all but bolt action is my favorite.

Shooting golf balls at 100 can be fun if you can get your wind reads correct.
