Can the switch and wire be removed from the j-arm?  I don't need the feature, I only bought it to bring the optic close to my eye.  The attachment method of the switch to the mount sucks (a magnet, really?) but I don't want to damage resale value by cutting it off at the wire.

Put a piece of electrical tape over the contacts on your PVS14.

What about the wire and switch?  I don't want it flopping around everytime it comes off the magnet.

I just yanked the wire/switch out cause it was working intermittently. No ragrets.
