Thread is around here somewhere, one guy did a really cool dark urban multicam job. One of my all-time favorites I've seen on this forum.

His looks so much better than my dark kryptek that I don't even want to post mine haha. I need to strip it down and try again.

How do you do this? I love the fading large color changes. That's the best way I know how to explain it.

Thanks! I used a laundry bag for a little but for the most part just used 3 different colors of paint and did diagonal stripe patterns and let the nozzle get farther away at the next color to blend in.

Still very happy with this one.  No special techniques or materials other than grass and leaves.

Thanks for the compliments

I’ve got many others like pinestraw camo, plain ole mesh laundry bag camo etc but these two are the ones that took the longest

I think i have seen a few on the rattlecan picture forum. Look pretty sweet but looks like a lot of detail work.

Not as cool as some others, but I generally put less than 15 minutes into a paint job.

Thank you!  It doesn't take very long to do either.

There's even a how to thread.

Can’t post pics for some reason but I did a copperhead style spray job on my sbr’d RAR 300 that came out great. Has held up well too. Plenty of hunting and range trips and never coddled. I added a double coat of ultra flat clear to keep it from wearing too fast.

In all seriousness, I was experimenting and came up with one that looks goofy up close, but pretty much disappears when it needs to

Don't overthink it or over complicate it, just figure out what colors work in your area and give it a go.  I think a lot of the more complicated patterns look great but a basic blotchy and blended paint job seems to blend as well or better than some of the ones I've seen that obviously took a good bit of work.   That AK is a great example as are Gunz sponge paint job.  Be sure to paint the scope and other parts or the contrast seems to make them stand out, ex. I can't imagine not painting my scope knob covers or rings.  JMHO

ETA- You can buy stencils from places like Primary Arms that work pretty well.
