I wanted to try to budget this for last year but I had some nasty setbacks so here I am in 2019 with a very nice HRA M14 parts kit that never got built.
My goal for the build is target shooting and plinking. I have very accurate 7.62NATO and 30 Cal Garands for Matches so while I hope she will shoot well she doesn’t need to be a match riffle. Finally, I am looking for a forged receiver that is clean looking true to the M14 lines.
I have been considering the Bula Barreled Receiver with the head spaced bolt. My plan is to go with their modified USGI 21-inch barrel. At different times it seems like Bula has had good and bad feedback but once issues were resolved the builders seem happy. Their QC just seems lacking at times.
I know even less about LRB but they are quite a bit more expensive. My finances are limited so I don’t care to spend a premium if it’s not going to give dividends but this could be my only gun of 2019 too so I can budget appropriately if needed.
I also know Bula has sales on a regular basis. I almost bought during their Black Friday sale but I refuse to acquire debt to pay for it and funds were tight with the holiday.
Anyways, help a poor guy finally get a M14 done, which would you suggest and why?
Edit: I found my thread from lass summer before I broke my shoulder...
