I'll be perfectly honest.
I personally dislike articulating pod designs. I find PAS-based designs to be more user friendly and more durable--they're easier to fine tune, and they're always "right" in terms of IPD.
In my experience people
think articulating pods are more useful than they in fact are. About the only time I legitimately see people use them is for stowing their goggles, but again, this makes them much slower to deploy should you need them. I'll admit, I too once thought articulating pods were "way cool." Then I actually started using them, and the "cool guy"-ness of the boat anchor that is the AN/PVS-15 wore off (yeah, it was back when PVS-15s were "cool guy"
).
Meanwhile, I've got access to PVS-31s, DTNVGs, BNVDs, and more, but my most commonly used device is still the Sentinel, and that's only because I prefer the ball-detent ANVIS mount interface and external battery pack to the dovetail interface. That being said, if you're going to use the dovetail interface exclusively like most Sentinel-users, the RNVG is definitely an option worth considering as well.
Ultimately
most commercially available goggles are using pretty much the same optics, so it's really a matter of choosing what tubes you want, and choosing which housing features you want.
