Hey guys,

This one short be a pretty short topic.

I am looking for a 1X thermal with a recoil rating good enough to handle 12 Gauge Slugs/Buckshot.  I won't be shooting any obscene 3 inch loads through the gun but, shotgun recoil is nothing to sneeze at.

So far, the only thermal that I know of that fits the bill is the NOX 18.  They apparently are rated up to a 50 BMG.

I emailed Iray USA to see what the recoil rating on the RH25 was and they didn't answer the question beyond what their published recoil rating is.  They rate the RH 25 up to 300 Winmag.  I have no clue how the recoil/joule energy compares to 12 gauge as I am way too dumb to figure that one out.

Does anyone besides Nvision have something that would fit the bill?  This is solely to be used to hunt hog at pretty close ranges hence the desire for a wide FOV.

Thanks!

I didn't even know that was a thing lol.

It would have been awesome if Iray would have mentioned that?  Hrm.

Hrm...

Where did you get that info from?  It's contrary to what was posted by other posters and what was conveyed to me by Iray?

Quoted by a distributor on their podcast. Unsure if that will link to correct timestamp but it is mentioned around 14:10.

Thanks bud.

I'll watch later.

Is their recoil reducing mount technically their MQD mount or is it something else?

Negative. The MQD is just two opposing QD sockets. The recoil reducing mount is a non QD mount that has moving components and recoil springs. The video details it pretty well. You will understand after watching.
