I was just messing around today and snapped this photo.  The 95 isn't my favorite Winchester, but it is very cool.  Although we tend to think that Colts should be paired with Winchester, I went a different direction.  Imagine the year is 1896 and this is your go to.

The 95 is a carbine in 30-40 Krag.  One broomhandle is in 30 Mauser and the other is in 9mm.

That's very "steam punk".

It likely happened at some point. Churchill carried a C96 in the last big British cavalry charge at Omdurman. Also I've read once or twice that the .30 Mauser cartridge was a popular cartridge at the turn of the century with backwoodsmen types.

Thats a great looking 1895!

The broomhandles are interesting but that 1895 is fantastic!  A .30 caliber 220 grain bullet travelling at a pretty respectable velocity, still
A formidable cartridge today.  No animal on the North American continent, 4 or 2 legged can stand up to much of that.

An 1895 Carbine in .30-40 Krag (also known as the .30 Army and .30 US) is one of my bucket list guns.

Those look gorgeous! I've only handled a Browing 1895 replica but was amazed at how smooth the action was. When you work the lever there's a lot going on.

I have two Wartime Commercial C96s made between 1915 and 1917. One is a beater but the other is mint inside, and I do shoot it with PPU 7.63 Mauser. That one also has an original stock with it. Any more pics of the guns?

Nice!  I have a similar looking 1895 (made in 1899, 30US - 30-40)  It has the same receiver sight and wood handguard.

I also have two Broomhanle Mausers - Mine are both in 9mm - In the 80s when they were imported it was common to reline them to 9mm, Wish I had a 30 mauser.
