New member here. Figured I’d share this early one due to the other Gewehrs in recent posts. This is the earliest Gewehr I’ve personally handled and I’m fortunate to own it. Made by DWM in 1899 and issued to the German Navy. The crown on the bolt and WD (Danzig dockyard) unit marking on the disc denote navy issue. Bands and a couple other small bits are mismatched but this example is largely original matching. It was updated for the S round denoted by the S marking and pinned rear sight base. (200 meters vs the later 400 meters).
