Be sure to @ me.   I'm looking forward to it.

Unfortunately I'm a bottom feeder when it comes to 1911s.

I have a couple of nice shooters, but they aren't collectible examples.

I was finally able to pick up a correct MSH  while the finish isn't a great match to the rest of the pistol, I'm glad it is now "correct and complete"

Congrats!
Not as easy as it sounds sometimes.

Fun Fact: the first Switch parts were produced in December 1942 for early January 1943 assembly on FDOP.

Due to Switch being slow to ramp up minor parts production, they had some pistols ready for finish except a few minor parts. It is relatively common for the earliest US&S to have this or that Colt part.

Thanks to friend John Holbrook, and some klekturs have never met in person, some January pistols are observed with original finish yet Colt MSH and barrel bushing (are most common).

John once owned the 28th Switch, it has a Colt barrel bushing absolutely original to production (top)

Below a Switch from First Day Of Production (FDOP) and it has a Colt mainspring housing equally original to the pistol (that photo needs taken).

Also cool, the hammer is blunted 'cause "Hey, wouldja gimmee a break, have only machined 10 of these so far!! "I'll get used to the fixture soon..."

Very nice! I recently received my CMP Rack grade 1911 and received a US&S frame….was pretty surprised and happy to have gotten it.
