I truly love the p38 and those grips. I've been trying to justify one for awhile.

Great looking pistol!
My FIL has a P-38, but I’m pretty sure it’s a post-war model. Too bad they don’t make ammo for it anymore….would probably be neat to shoot. |

Oh it’s going to get shot alright. I just bought a pair of repro grips for it because the originals can crack from what I read.

They're 9mm parabellum, right?
I hear that's actually pretty popular and easily available..! |

He also had a Luftwaffe officer’s cap that was really cool that he had on a taxidermy boar’s head on the wall in his den. I have no idea what happened to that but it was always a conversation piece. |

In the states, it's 9mm luger, so yeah they still make a little of that. Great pistol OP. I have 3, though 2 are RC. My dad just gave me his Walther with red grips this Summer. I have a Mauder one, and also a post war P38. |

That looks like it's in great condition, especially for a wartime use pistol.

Do not use any hot ammo in it. Standard 115gr. fmj only. Hot ammo will get you a cracked slide.
