02/23/2007 Sent application this morning. Here goes. ETA: CC Charged 02/27/07 ATF LICENSING CENTER $-30.00  ETA: Alright, I am getting impatient. Spent a lot of time checking out the C&R rifles at the Indy 1500, drooling and biding time. OK C&R packet and license received 05/10/07. A little more than 2 months. |

Application mailed: February 22nd, 2007 CC Charged: February 26th, 2007 License Received: March 31st, 2007 One month and six days. ATF says that 50 business days is the norm. I'm looking at your posts and seeing people who are getting it in merely two or so weeks. At least it's over and I won't have to worry about it for 3 years... In the meantime, I already have the Mosin Nagant, so next on the list is the CZ52! _MaH |

OK got my forms today and got to section 9.... there is no way I can list 3 complete address's in that 1x1 inch box. Can I print in see attached sheet? I will be attaching one anyway in regards to section 11 A I held a FFL prior to the Brady Bill and was forced to turn it in due to not being a store front dealer. Will this fly??? |

Yes. If you have to expand onto a seperate sheet, just put "Please see attatched" in the rather small boxes. Now, on the attatched sheets, you need to be sure to include the identifying information they ask for at the top. Check your instructions carefully! As I recall it's something like name, address, social on each page. Clearly indicate which box/question you're providing information for then do so. E.G. Full name Address ssn (I did xxx-xx-nnnn b.t.w. with no prob.) Question #xxx Prior addresses etc. etc. 1. 1234 Anytown St Anytown, WI USA 2. Etc. etc. etc. ---------- Edit: Sent my form 2/20 card charged 2/23, licence showed up yesterday 3/9.

Mailing mine off today 04/12/2007 Check went through on 4/17  4/24 they haven't gotten my application from the lock box yet   5/8 It's processing  5/15 Still processing 5/30 Still processing  6/5 Still processing  6/13 License issued should be here in 5 days  6/16 License in hand!! |

Location: Upstate NY (Rochester Area) Application Mailed: 4/16 Payment Processed: 4/20 Called for Status: 6/29 (left message never heard back) Called for Status: 7/6 (was told I should have it in approx. 2 weeks. they said it usually takes 90 days...was not transfered to the person handling my license) Called for Status: 7/17 ...figured I should keep calling until they issue it  ...was told that it should have only taken 60 days for me to get it this time. Transfered to person handling my license...the person that transfered me said that she was at her desk..she didn't answer the phone but I left a message and my file number. Will wait to hear back. Got a call back!: 7/18 said that she just approved my application and it would go out in the next day's mail...very polite and nice to deal with woman Received License!: 7/23 exactly 14 weeks door-to-door No home inspection was done as had been reported by other NYers |

Location: Chicagoland Date Mailed: 2/14/07 Date Check Cashed: 2/21/07 Date Received: Not Yet I called today to get updated status. I was told that my application is in the system and "processing" and that they're taking up to 90 days to get them processed. This seems contrary to a lot of you who have had less than a 30 day turn around. My Utah CCW took 83 days from mailing so I'll patiently wait. |
I am in Chicago area also, out by Joliet. 3/27 sent in and rec'd it today, 5/10. You must be within the city limits???? |

I got my paperwork today, and just wanted to make sure I filled everything out that needed to be filled out. Do I need to get fingerprinted? I got 4 copies of fingerprint sheets in my request, along with the C&R paperwork. 06/05/07 - Paperwork sent. |
| I guess based on that time frame, there is no barometer for when it should come. I have seen some 2-3 weeks times and some 1+ month times. At least they are approving them. |

| I mailed in my renewal approximately January 5, 2007 - by 01/16/07 my credit card had been charged. Come April 1st my C&R expired w/o the new one on hand. I started calling and leaving messages for the person who handles NY FFLs. Come mid May I decided to stop leaving mesages and just talk to the first person who answered the phone. I VERY nicely explained to her that I was calling to check on the status of my renewal that had been sent back in January. She asked for my FFL# (which I had at the ready) - she told me that everything was in order for my renewal - but that someone had NOT printed and sent it out (those were NOT her exact words, but that's what I understood). She told me that it would go out right away - I very kindly thanked her for her time - several days later my renewed license arrived. Well, seems like my original renewel was caught in limbo - good thing I called - but I do find it annoying how they are so prompt to take your money, but not with sending out the paperwork - but, hey, that's government for ya. |

Application mailed: June 8 Debit card charged: June 13 Will update when I get the license. July 13: Got notice that my application could not be processed because I checked the 3 boxes on the back instead of initialing them.  I guess I need to read directions bettter.July 15: Sent out corrected application. July 27: License received.

Application and CLEO notice Mailed 6-29-07 Card charged on 7-2-07 Update August 24th, 2007 - No word yet. Getting a little antsy.  Called Licensing Center 8-31-07, got right through to a real live person. Said I'll have it in have in 10 days. WOOT! |

Quick question..... I had my C&R a few years back and like a dumbass let it expire. So...here I am re-applying.  This time around it seems the process may be different??? The forms are for sure. Now my question is, am I supposed to submit a form verifying my citizenship? Reading the posts at the beginning of the thread make me think so, but when I recieved my forms from the ATF there was no additional form other than the 2 copies of the 5310.16. So do I need another form??? Help a brother out..... |

6-3-07: Application mailed 6-6-07: Card charged 7-16-07: 6 weeks after they charged the card, I received a notice that my application was being returned because I hadn't completed section 10. I am a permanent U.S. resident NOT a nonimmigrant alien, so section 10 does not apply. Your tax dollars hard at work ladies and gentlemen, not only did they ignore the note that I included with my application explaining this (nothing on the form to indicate legal immigration status for non-citizens) but they apparently don't understand the difference between a nonimmigrant alien and a permanent resident. Grrrrrrrrrrr. |

I don't think they could ever prove you didn't send it. Even if your CLEO kept every C&R app he rec'd ever, what would they do if you honestly mailed yours and the PO lost it? You are not required to have proof of delivery. FWIW, I wouldn't try playing games. Just send it. BTW, I let my C&R expire. Decided I wanted it again so I did a new app. It took just over 30 days from mailing the app to getting the license. Might have been quicker because I was in the system already due to previous (expired) license. |

| Quick CLEO question...I live in a small town but on the edge that is in a different county than most of it. The city police service my house but are based in a different county than myself. Am I fine to still list the local police chief as my CLEO or should it be my county's sheriff? |
But on the form you have to indicate one person. You send send copies to as many people as you like to, but you need to put the CLEO on the paper. I vote for county sherrif. |

| I sent in my application around the 10th of July. I called them and told them I needed it soon so I could move to MO with a NFA weapon. They called back the next day (9th of August) and said it's processed, and in the mail. |

Real quick question about the C&R license. Do I have to be the person to take delivery at the house? I work during the day so my wife would be the only one to be home to sign for it unless I take off for part of the day. |
