Been wanting a M79 for a long long time to complete my wish list for 40mm launchers and finally picked one up a few weeks ago on GunBroker.  Which was great timing, because the pallet of M781 chalk rounds just arrived last week.

Neato.

Shoot it while flying I hope

And cool on OPs part. Now you need to find a milkor to add to the collection.

That's awesome. I've only fired a few practice rounds out of one, back in the 90's. Never did own a DD.

I like the salty look of the M-79 a lot.  Just great.

But the M-203 barrels need to switch between the M-16A2 and the standalone launcher.

I'm pretty sure that OP has an FEL and is an SOT, so that probably makes things a little easier.

Yup, having the necessary licenses (plus being ITAR registered) makes life easier for ordering DD stuff:  FFL 07 / FFL 10 / FEL 20 / SOT 02

I keep telling myself to do this every time I'm in the vault, just keep forgetting.

Jesus that's a lot of chaulk. I'd love to shoot that many through my M79.

Not all at once I'd hope!
10-15 rounds is about the maximum I can shoot in one outing before my shoulder is sore enough it isn't enjoyable anymore. And the bruise that forms the next day is legendary.

So is chalk dead for non-SOTs?

Only if the chalk rounds have the launch primer pre-installed.  We sell them without the launch primer installed, so legal for non-FEL's to purchase.
