A while back I bought 3 Plan B muzzle devices. 2 of them were fine but I'm not so sure about this one.  The threads start out okay but then it looks like it started to cross thread. After that its fine. I wanted your opinion. I reached out to the manufacturer and they said it was fine. They said it has tapered threads which I dont see how it has anything to do with this. Im really iffy about screwing it on a nice rifle.

I can't really tell anything useful from a photo. If you can get the thread pitch from them you can toss a tap down the threads.

The tapered threads are on the outside, FYI.

Looks like a burr possibly, I wouldn't force it on.

Chase it with a tap or try for a return.

Thats the same thing I said. This side has nothing to do with it being tapered.

Try threading it on, finger tight, don’t force anything. If your rifle threads are clean there’s something wrong with the device you’ll know pretty fast. If the threads are good it should thread all the way to the shoulder with minimal effort.
