Do you just want thickness?  Like, "look at how extravagantly thick this is" show-piece...?

Or do you have a particular use in mind that you believe weight is beneficial for?

As far as thick and actually useable, Miller Brothers Blades.

In reality, quite a few companies use 1/4" and 5/16" thick stock. Most are high carbon 1095, 1070, etc. That's about as thick as you'd need to go. Next step would be an axe

I'd look to the steel. A quarter inch slab of carbon steel is going to be a better tough knife than a half inch of flavor of the day super stainless. It really depends what you want though. If I wanted balls to the wall "tough", I'd get a quarter inch thick blade made of 5160.

My old Fallen Oak Forge custom. You could throw that thing at a concrete building til it was dust and it'd still sharpen up just fine in a few minutes. I regret letting that one go. My experiences with abusing 5160 have been nothing short of phenomenal.

For what?  For basic knife chores, 1/4" is overkill. Even 3/16" is more than stout for heavy abuse.  The only time I like such thick blades is when they have a very broad profile with a high flat grind so you're not just carry extra weight.  I often think thicker stock steel is a convenient way to cover up poor heat-treatment.  I used a 3/32" custom Lueku that was tough as nails but above all, it could slice anything with a remarkably stout edge (differentially heat treated).  I have some larger, heavier stock blades, but I've also put them through the test of digging, prying, battening through larger (6-8") logs...if you want a strong knife, just don't be afraid to use it otherwise you're just carrying around a Barrett .50 cal that you only use for squirrels.

Thickest one I've had was a Nepal made kukri.

Other than a real Nepali Khukuri, you can't go wrong with a Becker BK-2.  It is 1/4" thick and has a lifetime warranty.  You could stick that blade through a car door with ease or pry open a door.  It is just as nice as my ESEEs but much less money.  I have found them for a good price on Amazon.  Usually less than $80.

It is. I stippled my BK9 with a soldering iron.

My ESEE 4 is about the same thickness as the Beckers.

Busse Combat MOAB is 0.41" thick of INFI steel.  I honestly doubt a person could break one short of putting the end of the tip in a vice and using a very long cheater bar on the handle with a couple of guys bouncing up and down (full weight) on it.

I'm a dedicated fan of Busse Combat, Swamp Rat, and Scrap Yard knives as I've been a user / abuser for the past 11 years and have yet to break, chip, roll or otherwise damage one (the finish will get beat off of them).

As far as blade thickness goes ...

Quality steel and proper heat treat is more important.  I'd take a 3/16" Busse Family product over a 5/16" ESEE, Becker, Gerber, Buck, Fallkniven, etc.

I've owned many: Buck, ESEE, Gerber, Grayman, Fallkniven, Bark River, Ontario, Browning, Cold Steel, Becker (both fabricators), and so forth.

Busse / Swamp Rat / Scrap Yard are the bomb.

Forgot to mention ... I had a Swamp Rat Warden (SUPER THIN skeleton) EDC knife that I used in four complete house remodels.

That 0.135" blade was hammered through metal, pried up liquid nailed mud sill plates, hammered through dead wires and various wood items (cabinets, countertops, etc) and was still sharp enough to scribe trim to walls and ceilings.

I have several Khukuri knives that I purchased online through a company in Nepal. They are thick blades and I paid a little over $100 for each one shipped from Nepal. The blades are 1/2" thick and made by hand from truck leaf spring steel.
