I'm probably the only person excited about this... but I found an English stock for my BPS on Ebay and now I have a specialish field BPS.

Pretty happy since they are discontinued.

Nice 20 gauge quail and upland gun for a southpaw.

I absolutely love it.  We're going to do a full review of the TS12 soon but we put a video short of it on our YouTube channel:

The TS12 has to be sent in to IWI to be converted to left hand operation.

Just came back from the range, ran 100 rounds of 00 Buck doing some patterning; you can shoot this thing all afternoon, it's a great shotgun.  I need to pick up a Benelli full choke and see how that patterns compared to the modified choke.

The conventional wisdom is that an IC will pattern best with buck shot as a more restrictive choke doesn't help and may hurt as the shot may be constricted and deform.

These days shot cups and wads make the biggest difference IME. Federal flight control and Hornady critical defense do best in my 12 gauges.

Fist sized groups at 25 yards.  That's an energy dump.

Too bad you can't swap a bolt and shoot left handed.  Awesome gun and looks like fun!

Very nicely figured wood for a "cheap" store-brand gun.

What are the plans?

Pretty nice bird gun as-is.

I’m thinking about doing a form 1 SBS or just having it shortened by 2 rib lengths which is roughly 16” then have the adjustable choke permanently welded in place to get it past 18”

Maybe both of those ideas are dumb? This is my second one of these, that High Standard action is incredibly slick.

Shortening to 16 then welding on the choke is interesting.  That would be a unique gun.

Those old actions are slick.

Looks like fun.

On order so far:

Mapgul Mossberg SGA stock, and GG&G adapter
Aridus CROM with RMR footprint
Holosun 507C-X2

Gonna want a different charging handle. I’ll probably end up with the new Aridus one. And I’ll probably get the Zhukov handguard at some point down the line.

Let the hate roll in

My father in law, knowing I was in the market for an 870, gave me his old Wingmaster magnum with a 30" ribbed barrel. Before he gave it to me, I let him know I was in the market for a tactical shotgun, and I'd likely strip it down to the reciever and rebuild it. I only hunt bug game and yotes, so not much use for a bird gun. He was totally on board and supportive.

It was a brownells back order that took 5 months (despite ETA of 4 weeks), for a product link they removed from their website shortly after I placed the order.

The 590A1 heat shield is a specific part number that you have to call and ask Mossberg about, it's not on their website and it's not the same part as a 500 heat shield; this one is for the thicker 590A1 barrel and is parkerized.

I'll see if I can track down the part number for you when I get near the sheet of paper on which I scratched it.

PN# provided/verified by mossberg's CS in March 2022:

16335P = heat shield
12086 = spacer
11588 = spacer screw (need x2)
10494 = spacer nuts (need x2)

I got the first two parts from Brownells after a 4 month backorder, and those parts are no longer locatable on their website to order.

Good luck!

It, and the sling, are both from Diamond D Custom Leather.   At this point I have one of their slings in every color offering, and at least three of their butt cuffs as I find all of their products to be extremely well made.

However, that butt cuff does NOT include a sling mount; I used a leather punch to carve out a spot for the sling loop to pass through.  The sling loop is from an 1898 Krag Jorgensen, inlet/installed into an oversized "trap" 500 buttstock whose LOP was also shortened, by Rose Action Sports.
