Will the SureFire V1-B-BK Vampire hold up on a 5.56 rifle?

I like that its more compact, and being cheaper is a nice bonus.

Yes, but the M300V or X300V comes with a way to mount them and it's not that much more expensive.

That and the high low quick click option is not ideal on a fighting rifle.

The V1 is a handheld or helmet light. It is not the right light to put on a rifle due to having high/low settings as the user above mentioned. A regular M300V is a much better option.
