Hey guys the wife told me to go out and get a suppressor... The problem is I don't know which one to get. I have a couple 300 black outs and 7 556s along with a 458 socom. I have zero intentions for getting one on the 458. I think the 300 is where I want to start with the suppressor so that I could use it on the others for now. My question is what suppressor do I go with? My local shop has both the Omega 36m and the Trash Panda in stock and both are right around $1,000 each. Is there any other ones that I should look at? Is one better than the other for 556? Lastly with either of these can I shoot 556 rounds and be hearing safe? Thank you for the help!

Check the suppressor forum.
https://www.ar15.com/forums/Armory/Silencers/20/ Rugged, Dead Air, Surefire, etc. Start with something like a Sandman S so you can do .30 and .223 fine. There are a plethora of options out now. Some call them hearing safe on 5.56, but due to the gas system, at the ear numbers are different than muzzle. Still worth wearing some ear protection. |

No they won’t be hearing safe
Any desire for 9mm sub guns or pistols? |
|
Potentially down the road I may build a 9mm but not sure about that now. I have a few 9mm pistols but do not have to suppress them right now.

|
I like my Sico Omega 30 but there are a lot of other choices to.

I like that the 36m can be shortened.... But the socom is not cheap to shoot just for plinking. Plus I only really built it for a hog hunt...I would like to find some DB numbers on the both the 36m and Trash panda on 556. I just talked with my shop and they had a Sig 556qd can for 500 plus stamp so I could always get a second one just for 556

Resonator or Rex mg7 or maybe a sig model for good value basic rifle can. Put savings towards pistol can after a year

Yhm resonator R2 and turbo k.
I just got started and am going this way, with a 22 can also |

If you haven't already, check on pricing and availability of mounts. Someone with a Sig QD was running into issues locating mounts on here the other day. Also Sig is releasing a new attachment system, moving away from the QD branded design, check out their 2020 catalog. The muzzle devices stay the same but the suppressor end changed.

View Quote Hunting or just shooting a couple rounds is ok without earpro but I would not do more than that with a supersonic centerfire. The YHM Turbo or Turbo K are good deal at under $400, if you're getting a 556 can. Mine just got out of jail. |

You can buy online (at Hansohn Bro’s) and have it sent to your local dealer. But your local dealer will charge some kind of transfer fee (they do the paperwork and store you can while it is in “jail” awaiting approval). If you order from Silencer Shop, your dealer fees are rolled into the SS price.
I started with a Dead Air Mask which I just got my stamp for. A few months ago I grabbed a Rex MG7 from Hansohn and my dealer had a Turbo K in inventory that I also picked up. So kind of the same boat you’re in. I’m really excited about them both but very nearly did a Dead Air Nomad instead of the Rex (and still kind of wish I had after all the great things I keep reading about the Nomad). |

I am really liking the price of the YHM Turbo K and the Resonator K. When I called the other day they said they had a YHM for $400 plus stamp but warned me of the barrel length restrictions at 8 inches for 300blk and 10.5 for 556. I thought they said it was a turbo K at first but looking back it must have been the resonator. |

Well after looking into a ton of suppressors, I think I am going with the YHM Resonator K as long as they have it.

Sounds good! I think I might go get the turbo for now, I only have 2 300blk and the rest are all 556 with 3 14.5's in the process so I think I will be happy with the turbo until the resonator comes in.
|
|
Happy to say I am officially in the waiting club! Turbo K is what I ended up getting. Thank you all again for the help!
|
|
Sounds good. Now just pick up a .22 cal suppressor and you’ll be set.
