I now realized that I made a mistake in not including a check for the stamp and decided to pay by Credit card.

As my luck would have it, that the CC was fraudulently used and now that card (number) is void.

How do I update the credit card information or attach a check at this time.  Can I send a new payment page with a check and a explanation?

The application is only about a week in.

Suggestions?

Thanks

I've seen it both ways.

1. It will be canceled and returned for resubmission (form 1 or 4)

2. You will get a letter and your place in line will remain. The letter will address what needs to be corrected in x amount of days.

I have seen option 1 as being prevalent.

I had two affected like that when I mailed them in Oct 2016. I immediately mailed two replacements with a new card, new prints, etc. One of the initial forms bounced back to the dealer a few weeks later and I let him know I'd already resubmitted. The other bounced back to the dealer 2 weeks before the resubmission got approved.

I almost had that exact thing happen to me. I'd filled out a Form 4 with my credit card info and literally the morning of the day I was going to mail it had a fraudulent hit on my credit card. I said a big "whew" at such a close call, printed out a new payment page and enclosed a check. Needless to say, I always send a check now, lol.

Had the same thing happen end of last year. My packets got returned to me. Took about 6 weeks.

Done, got kicked back.

Lost a month at the most.  Lesson learned.

DO NOT USE CC.

Wouldn't surprise me if the "suspicious charge" your card is suspended/cancelled over is that $200 bill to the ATF.

I lose more faith in the banks' credit card "monitoring" services every day.

The last time I had "suspicious activity" on my card, they just cancelled it and reissued a card, without even giving me the opportunity to confirm or refute their suspicions. When I asked what suspicious activity there was, I was basically told it didn't matter because they had already cancelled the card and it was a waste of their time to review it.

EDIT: I'm pretty sure I've mentioned it in here before, but every time my card has been suspended or cancelled, there have been firearms related charges in the list of "suspicious" ones that they have asked me to verify. Every. Single. Time.
