I would like to purchase a knife to give as a gift. I want to have the blade laser engraved with the guy's name. Looking for suggestions for a nice folder in the $300 range. Maybe a 3" blade. May have to use Cermark or some other chemical to mark the blade.

I was thinking Benchmade but I don't know the models. I am open to suggestions for other brands. Autos are not legal in our state.

Ka-Bar, of course the one I bought was for a military academy graduation. House of Blades in Fort Worth did a great job with the engraving.

Just wanted to give an update. I decided on a Benchmade 495 and I will engrave the guy's name on the blade.
