This one looked pretty good, so I ended up buying one.
First the good: overall it seems solid. Padding seems adequate. The middle divider is padded and had two AR15-sized mag sleeves sewn into one side. The divider is attached by Velcro, so it can be removed if so desired. The double zipper is the plastic variety. These seem more prone to fail than metal zippers. But I have had some that have given years of service, so we will have to wait and see how durable this one is.
Overall, it seems fairly roomy. Which is good and bad. Extra space is good. But it also adds to the overall size & bulk. (More on that below).
Negatives: Bulldog advertises this as “Industry’s smallest AR15 case”. That seems a bit of a stretch (pun intended). It’s designed to hold an AR15 carbine while broken into two halves. The case is nearly long enough to hold the fully assembled rifle. So as such, it’s a bit over-long to hold the broken down halves. It looks like you could shorten it by as much as 4”. In fact, it’s just the right length to carry an assembled 11.5” barreled AR15 SBR or pistol.
ETA: It appears to have been designed around an AR15 rifle with a 20" barrel. I just checked, and one of those fits just right, when broken in half.Same deal with the PC Carbine. Make the case just a bit longer and the assembled rifle will fit. Or the case is a fair bit longer than it needs to be for the disassembled gun.
As noted, the divider has a pair of sleeves on one side sized to hold one AR15 mag each. Each sleeve would also fit two Glock mags for a total of 4. However, the mag pouches do not have covers, so if you tip the case the wrong way, the mags would slide out. They would still be inside the case, but would then be banging against anything else in that half of the case.
There are no tacticool attachment points inside the case, so you can’t strap in a better mag pouch or a pistol holster. Nowhere to slap on your “Police” or “CCW Hall Monitor” decals.
Overall, I’ll still keep this one. I have a few subgun-sized firearms, and another case for one of those is always a good thing. But I think I may continue looking for a case for the PC Carbine.
