Had a question hopefully to help decide which way I should go.

I currently have an Omni VII Pvs-14 which performs pretty well.  I have a chance to snag an Anvis 9 Omni VII set for about 1.5k on top of what I can get for the PVS.  I've heard mixed opinions about using an Anvis as a user nvg setup due to them being intended for aviation use and possibly not the most durable.  Also, the lack of an onboard battery deters me a bit.

I may just be chasing the dragon here a little bit trying to get into a Bino setup.

What do y'all think.  Pros and cons?  Should I just hold onto the pvs setup and wait for something better to come along?

Thanks!

Buy the ANVIS and a ground-use battery pack.

The aviator system will provide binocular vision, depth perception, and be clearer.  By definition they're supposed to prevent the pilot from crashing himself and all souls aboard an aircraft into the earth.

Check the weight on the ANVIS vs a BNVD set. Typically the older ANVIS was heavy.

Yes, I would absolutely go with the ANVIS over the 14.

You can get a RNVG with Green XLSH tubes for $5k.

Had Anvis 9 scope for years. It is a great scope and i really enjoyed it. I just found a 14 suits my needs better. Everybody has different needs and wants. Great scope though !

Thanks for all the info!  I think I’m going to stick with the 14 for now and just hunt out a good deal on a more durable bino.

A Omni VII PVS7D @ 1200-1500 is a budget alternative to have both eyes aided. Although not as durable as a dedicated bino/PVS14, but not as fragile as an ANVIS system either.

I make an uparmor piece for the Anvis system that really toughens up the PAS bridge. I've had good success with them too as far as protecting them from more serious damage.
