Just be aware 147gr FMJ from Winchester and Federal will absolutely be super sonic out of the Kuna (confirmed with a chrono). My current subsonic load is a 142gr RMR Idaho Silver over 3.0gr of Titegroup. 30 shot average was 979 FPS, sounded really nice. Going to switch to N320 as the Titegroup is a little dirty in the Kuna. |

Or end up in a state that goes full commie and bans standard capacity mags. Like Va is doing. I don't have enough funds to get everything I need, but I bought a kuna and 15 mags even though I didn't really want it. I'm now debating on whether or not to get an MP5K, cause I may want one later on. |
Thinking of picking up a case of Winchester SG9W. ![]() How do the Kuna's like it? Acceptable accuracy @50yds? Clean burning? It'll be shot with/without suppressor(Primal w/46cal end cap) And just a friendly FYI for anyone interested in cloning your Kuna; Curtis@ https://digitalsublimationmedia.com/products/sp5-pictogram-engraving-service can replicate the factory auto pictograms on your Kuna lower. It's not listed yet. Just contact him via email. |

Can't wait to get it SBR'd and put a proper folding stock on it! Now to start getting it set up how I want it. Very nice. Have you heard of the Nexus lower that accepts AR15 fcg? It's one of my most favorite to shoot. |

Anyone know if any aluminum extended handguards are being developed? Right now it looks like Haga Defensive is the only option but it's polymer and pretty pricey for what it is. I read somewhere, maybe reddit, that an aluminum rail was being developed by someone but can't find the post and it didn't share any details that I recall. I'm kinda surprised Midwest Industries hasn't made one yet. |

They said no promises, but they have a Kuna and like them as a gun. So.... everyone needs to join in on that thread so they know there's interest! MI Kuna handguard thread |

No experience with that rig, but I'm probably going to end up with that same one down the road. I have their Sleds insert in my Spiritus JSTA pouch and love it. The sleds setup is awesome. I just wish there was an option to get a little MOLLE or small general purpose pouches on either side vs the radio holder and elastic/bungie thing. |

I haven't benched it or shot prone, but it's accurate enough to keep them on a 1/3 IPSC plate at 50 yards. |

| For those of you that have swapped out muzzle devices, what is the best way to support the barrel while torquing the factory one off and aftermarket one on, to avoid damaging anything? I emailed SA this same question but never received a response. Do they use any type of thread locker on the factory device? Lastly, is the barrel shoulder wide enough for a tri-lug adapter? I read somewhere that it is very minimal.. |

I read somewhere that it is very minimal.. I just put the receiver between my knees, and used a wrench to remove the brake. There was no thread locker. I had no issue putting on a 3-lug muzzle device. I think the one currently on it is a Hansohn Brothers one, but I also use a lot of KVP devices. |

Believe I’m using a KAK trilug. |

I guess I’m looking for some more definitive and specific info here on the correct way to do this, not just what “has worked.” For ARs and such, it is always recommended to support the barrel directly with a reaction rod, BEV block, etc. when torquing muzzle devices, rather than clamping the hand guard or upper receiver, to avoid over-stressing and damaging parts that weren’t ment to be stressed in that manner. I just don’t know a lot about the Kuna and how it differs, and cannot seem to find the info I’m looking for anywhere. SA doesn’t seem to want to help either. |

AFAIK there is no weak index pin and certainly no gas tube to worry about on the Kuna like an AR has so the lesser torque for a MD should be ok. I just clamped mine by the hand guard too. |
The plane flew, admit you're wrong and get over it.

The reality is there aren’t too many options with the Kuna. It’s a monolithic upper receiver, and there is very little barrel sticking beyond the upper. No one makes a reaction rod for the Kuna, and it’s unlikely anyone ever will, because there aren’t locking lungs or anything else for a rod to lock into. And even on an AR, what you’re locking into is the barrel extension, which is a separate part that is torqued onto the actual barrel. If you’re really worried about it and don’t want to listen to the experience of others who have removed the brake without issue, then buy a Kuna barrel nut wrench from HBI, remove the barrel, clamp the barrel in a vice, and then remove the brake. But even then, you’ll need to restrain the receiver to remove the barrel nut and that puts some stress on it. |

The GS where I bought both offered to install it so I’m going to watch how they handle it. |

For what its worth, I did the same thing as everybody else. Clamped it in soft jaws with my vice to swap out FS for three lug. No issues. |

I’m not worried about it, I just prefer to do things properly when possible instead of just winging it. I’ve learned my lesson the hard way. Also, it’s not that I wasn’t listening, it’s just that I wasn’t getting very specific info like “I don’t really remember, etc.” People talk about just holding the upper between their legs, which tells me they aren’t getting anywhere close to the torque spec. However, it sounds like clamping the receiver is the SOP so I’ll do that unless I hear otherwise between now and when I get around to doing it. I guess there isn’t a specific location on the receiver that’s better to clamp it? |
