Clearly you should put a micro-red dot on it.

According to the images available on Google... the seems to be 3 major types of attachment.... side pinned, where the base is pinned through the sides, one in front of the sight and one to the rear... second method, 2 screws through the top of the base, again, one through the front and on through the rear of the base. Third, the entire base is brazed on with no pinning whatsoever. I guess whatever you find in terms of rear sight base would be the way to attach it. Whether it would be historically accurate for your parts kit would be another question though....

Don't warp the tube.  Maybe solder instead of braze?  Less heat.

Original MP-40 sight bases were essentially "riveted" to the tube. MP-38's used 2 screws from the top. The 2 protruding studs on the underside of the base fit thru 2 holes in the top of the tube, then "peened" over.....it can be done thru the sear cutout in the bottom of the tube. Problem is that new manufacture tubes (not stamped/rolled like the originals) are thicker along the top rib ….that combined with the already "peened" studs on takeoff sight bases make it next to impossible to use the original method.

Hi temp silver solder works best...….

I've cut replacement sight springs from the spring steel in Mauser stripper clips......worked great

Oh dang, a great find...I already welded on the rear sight base repro (could not get enough heat with MAPP to braze and don't have a oxy/acetylene setup) an dmodified a Beretta 38/42 rear sight, but that is incredibly tempting, thanks for the find!

Be glad you passed.....that MP-38 site isn't original ......nor are any of the MP38 or MP40 parts that Ukranian seller has listed. It's not even a decent repro

The mp38 parts are very likely from a Ukrainian company called "Automatic Plus". They make a pretty exact copy of the mp38, as well as several other german ww2 guns. All functional and firing.
