So literally know nothing about these, he built it himself. Said to make an "insulting offer" but I dont even know what a fair offer is. Semi auto only. Could someone educate me more on this, does it look like a solid build? What do I even consider an "insulting offer"? the reason hes selling is he just lost passion for guns

Semi auto build of a 1928 Argentine Contract Colt MG.
Value depends on who built it. What do the markings on the (R) sideplate say ? Proper M-35 tripod for that is going to run you another 2000-2500 ......so keep that in mind. |

A 1919 parts kit is probably around $2000
If he wanted an insulting price I'd say $1000, don't think you could possibly get hurt at that price. |

Last time I looked at a regular 1919 kit it was like $1k, then they all disappeared so I assume $2-3k just for the parts would be easy. And that's before sideplate and labor. If you think it's built well enough $1k would probably be my insultingly low offer, and haggle up a bit if even that is too insulting for him.
