I have owned both the Aurora and now the Pro - there is a marked improvement in the performance of the Pro over the Aurora, this is very clear. Do the Aurora and Pro out perform a reasonable Gen2+ unit in a low light environment......no, but they most certainly do in higher light environments and in particular around anything with lights. Moreover, the Pro is starting to get close to a reasonable Gen2+ unit. Also, I note the author failed to acknowledge the many pluses the Aurora and Pro have over conventional analogue NODs - photos, videos, digital zoom, colour, GPS and compass to name a few. Mounting is a total non issue - I use a Lions Solutions Fast Bridge and 4/24 dovetail mount. Zero problems. I would categorically state this, if SiOnyx had released its fully functioning AR it would have taken the primary producer and industrial 24/7 market by storm and relegated analogue tubes to very specific case use. Also I am agnostic with regard to the technology e.g. I use thermal, analogue and digital VIS-NIR. |

I'd also note that 1:1 seems to be three clicks now on the Pro. Everything I read previously said it was 2 clicks, but not for me with firmware v1.32. Can anyone else confirm?
ETA: My zoom settings go back to default every time I power off the camera. Is that normal? |

[#21]
Interesting - on the Aurora it was a very definite 3 clicks.
On the Pro I have been using both 2 and 3 clicks - for me either seem to work. The zoom does a reset every time you restart. |

Nice work - looks good, do you know what shutter speed you used? Try specific shutter speeds under manual :)
1/60 = 60fps = 60Hz etc 1/30 = 30fps 1/15 = 15fps 1/7.5 = 7.5fps 1/4 = 4fps 1/2 = 2fps |

Alright. I think it is time to jump into the NV game. I have a cheap ATAirsoft airsoft helmet with a mount on the front.
There doesn't seem to he much of an improvement from the Sport to the black that would make that jump worth it. I kinda want the pro but might wait a little longer. 1k is hard to swallow at the moment. So with the sport, I would need the bridge: https://www.etsy.com/listing/869498209/sionyx-aurora-bridge-for-helmet-mounting?show_sold_out_detail=1&ref=nla_listing_details Then the helmet mount: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082MBWZB4/ref=cm_sw_r_u_apa_fabc_89kcGb5X9DSF4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 This would get me up and running, correct? I plan on grabbing a cheap IR light and then trying to find a decent IR laser. I really wish this didn't come in just white. Looks like I will be breaking out the camo duct tape. I'll be looking to upgrade to the pro in a few months when funds allow and I can actually find one not at full retail. |

It will work fine. With it being a Genuine Ops Core Fast HC, the Airsoft equivalent is the BJ Helmet - which a ton of people utilize with Auroras and works with both the RHNO2 and LG24 and Gaspain's mount. Just for reference - what I posted back on Page 90 BJ helmets have the pointed vent holes with molded shroud PJ helmets have the oval vent holes with removable shroud MH helmets have no vent holes with a removable shroud BJ is based on the Ops Core Fast Bump HC PJ is based on the Ops Core Fast Carbon HC MH is based on the Ops Core Fast XP HC ballistic You also have the Maritime (airsoft) helmet (4 slots on the rear ARC rail) which is based on the Ops Core Fast SF Super Hight Cut ballistic (originally called the MT Super High Cut). |

Open mobile app (Android) and "find" the Aurora, then connect to it 3. Go to the home screen of the app I can see what FW it's on, but I don't get any notification about an update, nor do I see any toggle or screen for updating.
