I am debating selling my Sig P556 upper, the serialized pistol and wondering if there is much interest these days consider the mpx and a few other things are out and about.

They were getting quite the premium a year or two ago, now not so much.  A few have languished on the EE.

Like anything though, price it low enough and it'll sell...

LMK what you decide please; I could use a parts donor.

I was looking for a P556 to build an SBR till Sig dumped that model and the prices jumped. The last time I had a discussion with a seller he was wanting more than twice of what I paid for my 556 and it’s just not worth it to me.

As a parts doner for an SBR, you won't find prices too good as a seller.  Midwest Distributors sold off some used LEO SBR trade ins for $575 complete, with diopter sights.  The market for a doner upper alone gun for an SBR would seemingly be in that range or less in my opinion.

I do love my SBR 556 though

What rear sight did you pair up to match the front? I just ordered one and it has the diopter rear sight which is not to my liking. I have a 556 rifle with the rear diopter and need to get a couple of those rear sights for the rifle and SBR. Thanks!

Its the Troy micro battle sight - they sold it a while back as a set for 556 height.  I used the rear only with the factory front.  I was able to dial it in but had to adjust it a fair amount - may not be too much adjustment left.   I now also have a Sig Romeo 3 reflex red dot on it.  The Romeo 3 sight is nice (function wise) , but looks a little too space age for the gun its on (just my opinion).

One of the guns I regret selling sometimes...the P556 is a great gun...but I did get a good trade for it...so can't complain.

You should keep it...especially if you have some spare parts.

An SBR like that is what I had in mind when I was looking to buy a P556. I bought an extra lower for a good price hoping to find a decent priced P556. It’s still in the safe waiting.

That is where this one sits....in the safe.

I still want one to build an SBR, but I’m not willing to pay an insane price for one. It’s bad enough that I have to pay the feds $200.00 for a little postage stamp that says “you have our permission”.
