I was looking for a new scope for my Browning T-Bolt & saw that EuroOptics has 3x ACOGs at $400-500 off normal price.

These ARE Govt buy-backs, no clue what shape they're in or so forth. Mounts not included. But still, serious savings!

I have no affiliation with EuroOptics or Trijicon (sadly).

Are these the ones that are all beat up and worth $200-300 tops?

Yes.  I almost choked on my food when I saw the price and tried to pull out my debit card.  Then I noticed they looked like someone threw them in a steel drum and kicked it down a mountain.

Has anyone received one of these?  I'm thinking about grabbing one for my back up rifle - I good coat of Krylon would cover the rough spots of the optics are still good.

My thoughts exactly... so I strolled over to the EE looking at ACOGs and bought an RMR RM05 I didn’t need just now.

One way or another you guys cost me $$$$$

The real question is would Trijicon still maintain them if I sent one in to get the tritium replaced.

I could be mistaken, but I vaguely remember Trijicon mistakenly sending the feds to a guy's house on here when trying to service a DOJ resell years ago.

Wouldn't be the first time I've had the fed's knocking on my door for something I bought

They're not even good ACOGs. The TA50 is objectively one of the worst ACOGs Trijicon has made. It has poor eye relief and a small FOV, which is like the worst of both worlds.

Even if they do, it'll cost you almost as much as you'd have spent on these TA50s to begin with.

This "deal" gets posted every now and then. It's never a good deal.

Trijicon has in the past denied servicing some previously sold surplus ACOGs. Don't count on it.

Thanks folks . . . these sound like shite.  Credit card is secured.

Back to the EE to pray for a miracle.  Hahaha . . .

At $550, I can't think of a good reason to buy one of these when for maybe $200 more you could get a safe-queen TA33 that has a BDC reticle in it.

Weird.
I wonder, who ran these?
What an odd duck.

I'd buy 3 right now if there were a functional ACOG for 200 bucks available.

Ive bought more than a few beat to shit mini ACOGs for $200 and full-size for 300-400. They work fine, why wouldn’t they? They’re not exactly delicate instruments. And I could care less how it looks. It’s a combat optic not a designer handbag.

Someone posted one of these buy backs a week or 2 ago, and in the listing it said the tritium was dead and trijicon won't replace it. For cheap enough, I would love an old ACOG, but I haven't found the right price yet.
